Announces Acquisition of E2E Consulting
|
Earlier
this month, CedarCrestone announced the completion of its acquisition
of E2E Consulting, a leading Oracle Certified Partner that specializes
in providing Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions using Oracle
Fusion Middleware Technology.
The acquisition of E2E Consulting by CedarCrestone enables the combined
company to better serve clients through an expanded set of services.
CedarCrestone is now well positioned to partner with their Oracle
applications clients to embrace SOA and include it as an integral and
strategic part of their enterprise solution.

GM of
CedarCrestone's India Operation "Tells All" about
Offshoring Capabilities
|
Very few competitors
have the ability to internally source highly skilled resouces through
low risk, controlled processes at all levels of the PeopleSoft value
chain including offshoring capabilities. As the
Oracle/PeopleSoft customer base contemplates moves to future
product versions including Oracle Fusion, tapping a full service
partner with high quality, focused offshore operations will become increasingly
important. India operations will enable CedarCrestone customers to
achieve productivity gains through receiving high quality services at
reduced costs.
The CedarCrestone Channel had the opportunity to sit down with Sudhir
Javangula, General Manager of CedarCrestone's India Operation, to
discuss the value and benefits that Offshoring brings to Oracle
clients. As CedarCrestone is continually challenged by the market and
customers to deliver high quality solutions at reduced costs, India has
proven to be an important differentiator. The video interview will

Corporate Strategy Update
|
As
we've surveyed the enterprise application landscape in recent years,
we've noticed a growing gap between what clients need and what solution
providers are able to provide. No longer do clients simply need
implementation or upgrade services. They need ways to optimize the
ongoing maintenance of their applications. Further, they need to
determine how next generation technology can bring their business to
the next level. The bottom line is they need a more holistic solution
to not only serve them today, but advance their mission in the future.
Despite these changing
needs, the solution provider community has in many ways failed to keep
up. As we see it, the solution provider community has become what
we call "barbelled." On the one end of the barbell we
find the Global Systems Integrators (SIs). It's true that the Global
SIs have the breadth of capabilities to provide holistic solutions.
However, unless a client is of significant size and willing to spend
millions of dollars, these providers are just not interested. On
the other end of the barbell we find the niche providers. These
organizations are generally very good at what they do. However, due to
their size and lack of investment resources, they can only provide a
part of the answer.
CedarCrestone has bridged the gap. With a 25 year history of
delivering client success, CedarCrestone's strategy is to better serve
our clients by investing in our core capabilities based on market
insight, client needs, industry trends and Oracle's strategic direction.

CedarCrestone Host eNewsletter Editor had the recent pleasure of
interviewing Chandana Paul, Director of Operations for CedarCrestone
India to uncover a personal perspective of working at CedarCrestone
India.
Q:
What are the most unique benefits of working at CedarCrestone in India?
A:
First and foremost, CedarCrestone is a Mecca for people that thrive
in consulting and technology services for Oracle applications
(including PeopleSoft and more recently, EBS). We have the privilege of
working with a wide variety of clients, application pillars, Tools
versions, and services---all of which offer employees the opportunity to
gain experience in all things PeopleSoft. Our System and PeopleSoft
administrators/DBAs get to dive deep into all the layers of the PIA while
the techno-functional folks sail amidst the code. At the same time,
our team embraces various toolsets and business functions while rubbing
shoulders with clients, pre-sales and proposal activities. Most
importantly, there are no partitions meanting that an individual can cross-train
into any role that they have the aptitude for. As a result we have
several "all-rounders."
Secondly,
in contrast with other companies in India, CedarCrestone India is
logistically located in an easily accessible city-center. Our
employees are well paid and have the opportunity to make a difference in
a flexible non-bureaucratic environment.
Q: Since
CedarCrestone India supports 24x7 operations, what are the
"shifts" and are there advantages to working on one versus the
other?
A: We essentially have 2 shifts that complement the regular
work hours.
- Shift 1: Called the Morning shift runs
from 8pm EST (5:30am IST) to 4:30am EST(2pm IST). This group of
Support/PS Admin staff help the U.S. evening shift and receives
issues that are transitioned from the US to the India group.
- Shift 2: Called the Second shift
extends from 4:30am EST (2pm IST) to 1pm EST(10:30pm IST). This
group supplements the US group during the busy morning hours.
Both
shifts are important; the Morning shift facilitates seamless
transition and information sharing while the Second shift gives the group
a flavor of daytime support.
Q: Can you
describe the growth in the staffing of CedarCrestone India?
A:
We have doubled in size in one year.
Q:
Do you have a cultural lesson that you'd like to share with the
American readers (for example a holiday, a sport, a national treasure)?
A: India is a diverse country, not everyone from (or in) India is a
Hindu (seems to be common question). Over a 100 languages are spoken in
India and about 8 major religions are practiced. The common language
of communication amongst Indians speaking different languages is English
or Hindi (Hindi is a language; Hindu pertains to religion). Holidays
are often different in different parts of India---another aspect of the
diversity; however, most religious holidays are followed and respected by
all. Indian's are huge fans of the game Cricket. India's
national game however is hockey.
