E-Business Services Manager

Job Description:
The E-Business Services Manager will perform work of considerable difficulty in support of/as the primary point of contact and escalation for multiple hosted and remote clients concurrently. In addition to management responsibilities, the position will have a dual role working on E-Business client systems either hosted in CedarCrestone’s datacenter or client hosted. The position also requires occasional sales support including potential client visits and presentations.

Management Job Functions:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for multiple clients concurrently, both hosted and remote
  • Manage resources and activities of the EBS Services team
  • Review and understand the terms of client contracts
  • Coordinate work effort between multiple groups to ensure Service Level Agreements, as outlined in contracts, are achieved for all clients
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Participate in client projects as the Managed Services representative
  • Conduct client billing on a monthly, quarterly and annual cycle
  • Conduct meetings to determine client requirements based on new project priorities, changes in legislation, and system needs
  • Prepare regular status reports, both verbal and statistical, and conduct regular status meetings to review with clients
  • Assist technical sales in enhancing the E-Business service offering
  • Perform other related duties as required

Oracle E-Business Functions and Required Skills:

  • Build, configure, debug and support Oracle E-Business applications
  • Perform complete installs of Oracle Application E-Business Suite
  • Work in multiple versions of Oracle applications including release 10.x to current release
  • Work with infrastructure team members (Network, NT and Unix Administrators) to build and deliver services in a stable and secure multi-instance hosting environment
  • Assist with capacity planning, disaster recovery and load balancing activities in the hosting environment
  • Complete understanding of Oracle Application Architecture; specifically in a Sun Solaris, and Linux hosting environment
  • Design and administer Oracle Applications E-Business Suite
  • Upgrade Oracle Applications E-Business Suite and Technology Stacks
  • Performance tuning of Oracle Applications
  • Build and deploy Oracle Applications using Oracle Rapid Clone utility
  • Provide production support for Oracle E-Business
  • Apply Oracle Applications patches
  • Clone Oracle Applications production system

Oracle DBA Functions and Required Skills:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain processes and procedures for database administration on production servers
  • Develop scripts to perform routine database administration tasks
  • Develop scripts and methods to monitor production databases
  • Manage backup and recovery of production databases
  • Manage database and application software upgrades as they effect production databases
  • Assist data users and applications development teams in planning efforts by advising them of data conventions and definitions
  • Perform database tuning and performance analysis
  • Interact closely with support team to assist in problem resolution and proactive maintenance
  • Serve as point of contact and responsibility for database and other application vendors when problem escalation is warranted
  • Assist in the development of policies for data management pertaining to security, auditability, and privacy, and ensure these policies are complied with
  • Act as 24x7 support for production database issues
  • Oracle database certification is a plus
  • Must have extensive Oracle tuning experience at the database and EBS application level
  • OEM installation, configuration, and maintenance experience is a plus

Required Knowledge, General Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with EBS systems
  • Written communication skills, effective analytical skills
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Communicate effectively with executive level client personnel
  • Organize time effectively and efficiently
  • Scope work effort to provide estimates to clients
  • Prioritize work for team members
  • Work with clients on issue resolution
  • Manage the scope per the contract
  • Plan, direct, and review the activities of technical personnel involved in the design, development, implementation, and support of applications programs
  • Seek innovative ways to improve the process of delivering solutions to customers
  • Maintain an effective relationship with customers, team members, and executive management
  • Build confidence and trust with customers

Other: For non-Atlanta based applicants, a DSL or Cable modem is required for high-speed access. Access via satellite is not acceptable.

Travel: Limited, based on client/CedarCrestone need (less than 30%)

Unix Administrator

Job Description:
The Unix Administrator performs a wide variety of tasks in software/hardware maintenance and operational support of Solaris and Oracle Enterprise Linux-based (OEL) Sun and DELL Servers. These responsibilities include maintaining servers running Solaris 10 and OEL operating systems, Sun hardware, system security, ftp and sftp servers, EMC SAN storage systems, Veritas HA software, and a disaster recovery site for emergency fail-over of all client applications. The Unix Administrator recommends and implements policies and standards, ensuring adherence to security procedures.

Job Functions:

  • Installation, configuration, monitoring and deployment of Sun Solaris and Linux (OEL) servers
  • Analyze and resolve problems with server hardware setup, tuning, and troubleshooting all aspects of the Solaris and OEL operating system
  • Applying operating system packages and security patches
  • Developing new Unix scripts to support task automation and monitoring activities
  • Supporting and troubleshooting Solaris networking services and protocols such as TCP/IP, NIS, DNS, NFS, DHCP/BOOTP, FTP, SSH, Kerberos, SMTP, Sendmail and LDAP
  • Support and troubleshooting of Veritas High Availability products, specifically Veritas Clustering Server, Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas File System
  • Supporting SAN Storage solutions from EMC
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of customer Weblogic environments
  • Creating detailed documentation
  • Maintenance of hardware and software inventory
  • Perform disaster recovery testing
  • Maintain current knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems
  • Reporting on system availability, performance, and security compliance
  • Initiate new responsibilities and help to plan for the future growth
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Respond within defined SLA metrics to issues logged in the company ticketing system

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5 years of experience as a Unix/Linux System Administrator
  • Certification in Linux and Solaris 10 is a plus
  • Strong operating system and network knowledge in order to carry out assigned administrative tasks with the need for limited supervision
  • Experience with PeopleSoft applications a plus
  • Basic working knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities; self-direction
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and training to end users
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Gather and analyze information skillfully; recommend alternative solutions
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; ability to listen and get clarification
  • Ability to respond well to questions and participate in meetings
  • Develop workable implementation plans; communicate changes effectively
  • Should be quality conscious and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures; complete administrative tasks correctly and on time
  • Ability to follow strategies to achieve organizational goals and adapt strategy to changing conditions
  • Adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
  • Willingness to follow instructions and respond to management direction
