Management Consulting Services Project Chartering
Conceptual Model
The model for chartering is based upon Peter Senge’s Disciplines of the Learning Organization. The model incorporates the following principles: shared vision, team learning, systems thinking, individual mastery and mental models.
Process
Working with the project implementation team, we develop a Project Charter through a series of four workshops: (1) Project Foundation, (2) Project Processes, (3) Communication, and (4) End User Support. When not done separately, we also incorporate a Risk Analysis workshop into the series. The workshops are a combination of presenting principles and examples followed by small group work. Each group reports back, and the team refines the information that is to be incorporated into the Project Charter. CedarCrestone consultants write the Project Charter based upon the information developed in the workshops. The Charter is reviewed by the Project Implementation Team and, when refined, is presented to the Steering Committee for approval.
Deliverables
The deliverables include a series of four workshops of four-hour duration each, the resulting Project Charter and a presentation to the Steering Committee. CedarCrestone and the client project manager present the final Charter to the Steering Committee for approval.
